Effective date: June 12, 2026 · RedLine is operated by Terenc LLC ("we", "us")
RedLine is a PDF review tool available at redlinedoc.app. This policy describes what information RedLine handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. The short version: your documents are yours. We process them only to perform the edits you request, we do not store them on our servers, and we do not sell or share your information with anyone.
Documents you open. When you open a PDF in RedLine, the file is processed in your browser and sent to our server only transiently to apply the annotations and page operations you request (for example, adding a comment or reordering pages). The modified file is returned to your browser. We do not retain copies of your documents after the request completes, and we do not read, analyze, or use their contents for any purpose other than performing the operation you asked for.
Annotation review data. Review states you attach to annotations — actionable flags, status, assignee, and notes — are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) on your device. They are not transmitted to or stored by us.
Reviewer name. If you set a display name, it is stored locally on your device and, where you choose to attach it, written into the PDF's annotation author field so that other readers of the document can see who made each comment.
Technical data. Our hosting infrastructure may record standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) for security and reliability. These logs are not used for advertising or profiling.
If you choose to sign in with Google and connect Google Drive, RedLine requests the following from Google's APIs:
drive.file scope) — this grants access only to the specific files you select through the Google file picker or that you create with RedLine. RedLine cannot see, list, or access the rest of your Google Drive.Google user data is used solely to provide RedLine's core features: opening the document you selected, saving your annotated version back to your Drive, and attributing your annotations. Specifically:
RedLine's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage and retention. Files accessed from Google Drive are processed transiently as described in Section 1 and are not stored on our servers. Authentication tokens are stored on your device and used only to access the files you selected.
Revoking access. You can revoke RedLine's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access does not affect files already saved to your Drive or device.
We share information only with service providers that host our infrastructure, only to the extent needed to operate the service, and with parties to whom you direct us (for example, saving a file to your own Google Drive). We may disclose information if required by law.
All traffic between your browser, our servers, and Google's APIs is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Because documents are not stored on our servers, the primary copies of your data remain on your device and in your own Drive.
RedLine is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Because RedLine stores essentially no personal data server-side, most data lives on your device and in your Google account, where you control it directly. If you believe we hold personal information about you and you would like it accessed, corrected, or deleted, contact us and we will respond promptly. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
